Indiana State Parks to offer Free Entry for Welcome Weekend

INDIANA – As the weather warms up and outdoor recreation beckons, the Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is inviting everyone to experience the beauty of the state’s parks during its annual Welcome Weekend.

Mark your calendars for Sunday, May 4th, as all Indiana state parks will offer free admission to all visitors. This is a fantastic opportunity for both seasoned park enthusiasts and newcomers to explore the diverse natural landscapes and recreational opportunities the state has to offer.

“We’re excited to welcome back longtime visitors, and we also warmly invite anyone who’s never visited,” said Ginger Murphy, deputy director of Indiana State Parks. “Our parks offer beautiful scenic views, camping and healthy outdoor activities, nature centers for learning about Indiana’s history and natural resources, and delicious dining and restful lodging at our inns.”

In addition to free entry on Sunday, the DNR is also offering several discounts to encourage longer stays and overnight visits. Campers can take advantage of a 25% discount on camping fees for stays from Sunday through Wednesday, valid through May 14th. To claim this offer, use the code “SPRING25” when making your reservation.

For those looking for a more comfortable overnight experience, state park inns will also be offering a 25% discount on a stay when booking two nights. This provides a perfect opportunity for a relaxing weekend getaway surrounded by Indiana’s natural beauty.

Whether you’re interested in hiking scenic trails, enjoying a picnic by a lake, exploring nature centers, or simply soaking in the fresh air, Welcome Weekend provides the perfect excuse to visit an Indiana State Park.
