NORTH VERNON – Jennings County conquered Bedford North Lawrence 5-0 during girls high school tennis action on Thursday.
After enduring a lightning delay, the Panthers dropped only six games on the five courts.
Kaydence Lowman set the tone for Jennings with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Emma Conover at No.1 singles. Mia Silvey stopped Laura Wires 6-0, 6-0 at No.2, and Grace McBride bounced Bailey Guthrie 6-0, 6-0 at No.3.
In doubles, Madelyn McIntosh and Jocelyn Valdonvinos defeated Lauren Salzmann and Jada Key 6-2, 6-0 at No.1, while Karmindy Lowman and Kenna Sentz topped Emma Voris and Claire Edwards 6-2, 6-1 at No.2.
“In doubles, they were all over the net with their volleys,” BNL coach Ian Dillman said. “We just have to stop hitting back to the opponents. We were all over the place and we couldn’t find a calm place. Jennings was making us move and not giving us time to get back up.”
BNL will host the annual Rob Spencer Invitational, featuring Brownstown and Lighthouse Christian, on Saturday.
