Monroe County Democrats call for volunteers to strengthen community engagement

BLOOMINGTON – The Monroe County Democratic Party is ramping up its efforts to engage with the community and is actively seeking volunteers to fill key roles within its various committees. With numerous opportunities on the horizon, the party is inviting residents to contribute their time and talents to strengthen local democratic initiatives.

Key Volunteer Opportunities:

  • Fundraising Committee:
    • This committee plays a crucial role in securing the necessary resources for the party’s activities.
    • While prior fundraising experience is beneficial, it is not required.
    • Members will contribute to developing and implementing fundraising strategies to support the MCDP’s goals.
  • Events and Outreach Committee:
    • This committee focuses on planning and executing party events throughout the year.
    • Members will also organize outreach initiatives, both independently and in collaboration with other community organizations.
    • This committee also partners with the volunteer committee to help organize charitable events.
  • Precinct Chair Committee:
    • Specifically for Precinct Chairs (PCs) and Vice Chairs (VCs), this committee facilitates communication and information sharing among precinct leaders.
    • Members will work to develop best practices for building and maintaining relationships within precincts and onboarding new PCs and VCs.
  • Volunteer Committee:
    • This committee is responsible for recruiting new volunteers and organizing regular volunteer opportunities.
    • Members will collaborate with community organizations to identify areas where volunteer support is needed.
    • This committee will organize charitable drives throughout the year, such as school supply drives, thanksgiving food drives, and holiday clothing and toy drives.
