BLOOMFIELD—Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is fostering a love of reading in young children across the region, including Greene County. Six hundred children from birth to age five receive free, high-quality books monthly. This vital program sparks creativity and curiosity and lays the foundation for a lifelong engagement with literature.
To ensure the program’s continued success and expand its reach to even more young learners in Greene County, the community is invited to a special fundraising event: “Once Upon a Time Fundraiser.”
The free, family-friendly event will occur on Saturday, May 3rd, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the scenic Fowler Pumpkin Patch at 5060 North Greene County Line Road.
Attendees can look forward to an afternoon filled with fun, community spirit, and numerous opportunities to support this impactful cause. The event will feature:
- A chance to win exciting items through a Raffle + Silent Auction.
- Delicious food available for purchase from The Huddle Grill & Chill Food Truck.
- A Cash bar offering beer and wine for adults.
- Live acoustic music performances by Rachael Lee James from 4–6 pm and Marvin Holt from 6-8 pm.
- Sweet treats from Bruster’s Ice Cream.
- Fun photo opportunities with a life-sized Dolly Parton cut-out.
- An exciting visit from the Eastern Greene County Fire Territory’s fire truck.
All funds raised during the “Once Upon a Time” Fundraiser will directly benefit the Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in Greene County, helping to provide more free books to local children.
While the Imagination Library delivers books to families at no cost, the annual expense for the United Way of South Central Indiana to administer the program is $32 per child. This fundraiser offers a valuable opportunity for the community to invest in the future of its youngest members by supporting their literacy development.
