
ORLEANS – The upcoming 55th Annual Orleans Dogwood Festival is set to receive a special guest during its opening ceremonies this Saturday night. Robert F. Henderson, Executive Director of the Orleans Chamber of Commerce, has announced that the newly crowned 2025 Indiana State Festival Association (ISFA) Queen, Marisa Kindel, will visit the festival as part of the Dogwood Queen Contest and Opening Ceremonies.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, April 19th at 5 p.m. at Orleans Elementary School.
Marisa Kindel, the daughter of Amanda and Robert Kindel, comes to Orleans with impressive credentials. She is the reigning Queen of the Bristol Homecoming Festival and was recently crowned the 2025 Miss Indiana State Festivals Association Queen. Marisa has three siblings: Ali, Brady, and Avery.
Marisa has demonstrated excellence throughout her academic career, earning the prestigious Golden Knights Achievement Award. She has also been a dedicated member of 4-H for seven years.
Marisa is pursuing a degree in Mortuary Science at Gannon University, where she also showcases her athleticism as a flyer on the school’s competitive cheer team.

“The Dogwood Festival has been a longtime and active member of the ISFA, participating in its many activities, and we are indeed honored to be able to host this year’s reigning festival queen,” added Henderson.
The presence of Queen Marisa Kindel is sure to add an extra touch of prestige and excitement to the Dogwood Queen Contest and the opening of the 55th annual Orleans Dogwood Festival. The community is encouraged to attend the ceremonies on Saturday evening to welcome Queen Marisa and celebrate the start of this beloved local tradition.
