

CORYDON – Bedford North Lawrence’s Orion Hill and Brayden Patterson led a strong showing in the field events as the Stars competed in the Stargazer Invitational at Corydon during high school track action on Friday night.
The Stars finished third in the 16-team boys field with 81 points. Corydon won the team title with 127.5, while Evansville North totaled 104. In the girls meet, BNL was sixth out of 16 teams with 42.5. Corydon won that team title with 119.5, followed by Edgewood (117.5) and Evansville North (100).
Hill won the discus with a throw of 139-8, while Patterson cleared 6-4 to win the high jump.
Other top finishers for BNL included Hiram Mullis (fourth in the 110 high hurdles in 16.48), Tucker Inman (third in the 3200 in 10:25.99) Tripp Stahl (second in the shot put at 45-11, third in the discus at 135-5) and Hill (third at 44-1/2 in the shot)
BNL’s top finishers among the girls included the 3200 relay (Elise Williams, Paige Voigtschild, Gracie Simmerman and Avery Brown were third in 10.50.42), Voigtschild (second in the 3200 in 12:35.81), Macey Lambrecht (second in the shot put at 31-1) and Madalyn Mason (third in the shot at 30-9).
BNL will face Bloomfield and Eastern Greene on Tuesday.
