Penny Wars underway to benefit Spring Fest Pie-in-the-Face fundraiser at Springville Community Academy

SPRINGVILLE—

Four staff members are currently engaged in a spirited “Penny Wars” competition. They are all vying to avoid the messy fate of being pied in the face at the upcoming Spring Fest, held at Springville Community Academy. The fundraiser will culminate in a public pieing at the annual event.

Competing for the dubious honor are Kaileigh “The Crusher” Ringer, Kaleb “The Money Magnet” Garner, Brian “Big Bills” Lynn, and Jacob “Twinkletoes” Carmichael. The staff member who collects the most money in spare change and dollars will receive a pie to the face at Spring Fest. Adding a twist to the fundraising effort, the runner-up in the Penny Wars will have the privilege of administering the pie.

Organizers are encouraging the community to contribute their spare change and dollars to support the cause and influence, which results in staff members being covered in whipped cream. Weekly tally updates will be posted to track each competitor’s progress.

The highly anticipated “Pie in the Face” event will take place at noon during Spring Fest, which is scheduled for Saturday, April 26th, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will be held at Springville Community Academy.
