George P. Gabel, Jr., 79 of Bedford went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, March 7, 2025, at Majestic Care of Bedford.
He was born to George and Verona Gabel on October 23, 1945, in Berlin, Wisconsin. George moved to Bedford when he was in the fourth grade of school. He graduated from Bedford High School in 1964. George was very proud to call Bedford his hometown. He always helped in planning his high school class reunions, George was a graduate of Purdue University. He served in the United States Marine Corps and saw combat in the Vietnam War. George retired from General Motors after 39 years of service, he served in the Lions Club for many years. He collected and dealt with antique clocks and furniture. George was known and loved by many people in the Bedford area. He attended Work of God Church in Mitchell.
Cremation has been chosen, with a celebration of George’s life at a later date, Cresthaven Funeral Home is entrusted with his care, condolences may be made at www.cresthavenfh.com.
