LOOGOOTEE– The Loogootee Lions boys’ basketball team is preparing for its upcoming sectional tournament with a special pre-sectional banquet featuring a distinguished guest speaker.
Jim Trout, a local basketball legend and a member of the 1970 Loogootee Lions state finalist team, will address the team and community at the pre-sectional banquet. Trout, the 1970 Trester Award winner, brings a wealth of experience and inspiration to the event.
The banquet is scheduled for Sunday at 4 p.m. at the St. Johns Center. Tickets will be available at the door for $20.
The Lions will tip off their 1A Sectional journey at Jack Butcher Arena against Washington Catholic on Wednesday night.
This event and the upcoming sectional games are generating a lot of local excitement. The Loogootee athletic department has released information about the sectional tournament itself, including ticketing and schedules.
The community is encouraged to attend the banquet and support the Lions as they pursue a sectional championship.
