
BLOOMINGTON — Four people, including two students from Indiana University, were injured after being struck by a vehicle Saturday night, according to Indiana University Police Department (IUPD).
At approximately 11:40 p.m. on Saturday, IUPD officers responded to an accident with injuries at East 17th Street and Eagleson Avenue in Bloomington. Upon arrival, officers found that a westbound vehicle had struck four pedestrians who were in the roadway.
Two of the victims were identified as IU students, while the other two and the driver were not affiliated with the university. Authorities confirmed the driver remained at the scene and fully cooperated with the investigation. Police added that there is no indication that alcohol or drugs played a role in the incident.
The four pedestrians were all transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. One victim remains in critical but stable condition, while the other three sustained non-life-threatening injuries, according to IUPD officials.
The crash remains under investigation, and no further details about the circumstances leading up to the incident have been released.
Authorities are urging pedestrians and drivers to remain vigilant, especially after dark.
