Loogootee rallies to clip BNL in five sets

LOOGOOTEE – Loogootee rallied after dropping the first two sets to conquer Bedford North Lawrence in the volleyball regular-season finale on Thursday night.

The Lions (18-8) battled back for a 23-25, 19-25, 25-20, 25-22, 15-10 win on their Senior Night.

The Stars slipped to 12-11.

“We played well, especially in the first set,” BNL coach Aaron Wagoner said. “Loogootee started waking up in the third set.”

Sammie Gratzer had 20 kills, Jenna Allen totaled 14 kills, Lily Scott added 11 kills, and Isabella Root had 8 kills for the Stars.

BNL will be idle until Oct. 19, when the Stars compete in the IHSAA sectional semifinal against the Seymour-Floyd Central winner at New Albany.
