MITCHELL – On Thursday, September 5, Mitchell Police officers responded to a domestic battery incident at 410 Dean Street involving 46-year-old Andrea Lynn McFarland and her husband.

Sergeant Jacob Kuhlman and Officer McMillen of the Mitchell Police Department were dispatched to the scene following a report of a physical altercation between the couple. Upon arrival, they found the two individuals separated. After gathering statements from both parties, the husband told police his wife, Andrea – who had previously been sober for about a year and a half – was intoxicated. An argument ensued as he attempted to pack some clothes to leave for the night.
That is when Andrea struck him on the head, causing visible injuries. The husband expressed his desire to press charges against his wife for the injuries he sustained.
Meanwhile, Andrea admitted to consuming alcohol to cope with pain and frustration and accepted responsibility for her actions, acknowledging the potential consequences.
