MITCHELL – Mitchell High School is gearing up for an exciting soccer season as the program undergoes a complete transformation under the leadership of new head coach Jason Bowden. With a fresh coaching staff and a determined group of players, the Bluejackets are poised to make a significant impact on the field.
Bowden, enthusiastic about his new role, has implemented sweeping changes to the program. This year’s team boasts a record-breaking 21 players, including a talented group of 10 seniors eager to leave their mark. With a strong foundation in place, Bowden is also focused on developing the future of Mitchell soccer by building a robust youth program.
“We are rebuilding the program from the ground up,” Bowden stated. “We have the largest junior high team in school history and are even launching a 5th grade and lower elementary program. Our goal is to create a soccer culture at Mitchell that will last for years to come.”
The team has undergone rigorous training and conditioning during the summer, resulting in a new and dynamic playing style. Bowden emphasizes the importance of leadership, commitment, and teamwork, and believes these values will propel the team to new heights.
“We have developed a whole new playbook and are instilling a belief in our players that they can achieve anything they set their minds to,” Bowden explained. “We are focused on helping them reach their full potential, both on and off the field.”
To enhance the overall game-day experience, Mitchell Soccer is introducing several new elements, including a dedicated announcer and a revamped game atmosphere. Bowden hopes these changes will create a more engaging environment for fans and players alike.
As the season unfolds, the Mitchell soccer community is eagerly anticipating the team’s performance. With a new coach, a talented roster, and a clear vision for the future, the Bluejackets are ready to make waves in their new sectional and establish Mitchell as a soccer powerhouse.
