Take the Spring Mill Trail Challenge

MITCHELL— Spring is underway, and it’s time to start the Spring Mill Trail Challenge. Trail Challenge stickers and shirts are now available. Reagan Johnson, 17, of Mitchell, developed the 2024 Trail Challenge logo as part of a Mitchell High School Art Contest.

Becky Mason’s art class students competed to design this year’s Trail Challenge logo. Johnson’s logo won the contest and can now be found on stickers and T-shirts. Mason said Johnson is a sophomore and an exceptional young woman with a heart of gold.

To complete the Trail Challenge, a person must walk each of the park’s nine trails in the park, approximately 10 miles. The trails around the Inn are currently closed, so it’s okay to detour around those but walk any open trails. Once the trails are completed, you get a free vinyl sticker at the Park Office or Nature Center. Mitchell High School printed the stickers.

T-shirts for the Trail Challenge are also available online in partnership with Good Sports in Bedford. These T-shirts are available in short or long sleeves; approximately half the cost goes to support the Park. The link can be found on the Friend’s website, Facebook page, or at https://shop-good-sports.myshopify.com/. Look for the link for Spring Mill Trail Challenge on this page.

There is no time limit on the trail challenge. Take your time, pick up a sticker, and order a T-shirt when you are done. The Friends of Spring Mill encourage able visitors to do the challenge every year, and you’ll likely see something you didn’t notice before.
