Bloomington Farmers Market showcases floral brilliance

BLOOMINGTON – April is not just about April showers leading to May flowers. This is a month where nature seems to sigh in relief, embracing warmer days to come and an air thick with the anticipation of summer.

But a little secret might surprise you: April isn’t waiting for May to showcase its floral brilliance. During April, the Bloomington Farmers Market has several farm vendors selling potted plants, flowers, and floral bouquets.

The market is open Saturday from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Showers Common at 401 North Morton Street in Bloomington.

Music at the Market

This Saturday, The Joe Friedman Trio – a group comprised of jazz students at Jacobs School of Music (Joe Friedman – Trumpet, Nolan Phillips – Bass, Willie Bays – Piano) will play classics and original compositions.

Their performance will begin at 10:00 a.m. on the Market’s circular stage.

The Farmers’ Market Advisory Council 

The FMAC represents Market vendors, customers, and food and beverage artisans. The Council acts in an advisory capacity on policy matters relating to the Farmers’ Market. The next meeting is Monday, April 15, 5:30-7 p.m.
