Indiana State Police conducts pre-eclipse patrols

BLOOMINGTON – Troopers from the Indiana State Police Bloomington District conducted a special patrol along I-69 before the Total Solar Eclipse.

The special patrol on Friday, April 5, resulted in 81 traffic stops. Troopers issued 42 citations and 53 warnings for traffic violations and assisted four motorists. Bloomington District Troopers also conducted roadside investigations of criminal breaches, resulting in six arrests and four cases.

The Indiana State Police’s goal is for all Total Solar Eclipse participants to enjoy this unique event safely and securely.
