The City of Bedford is taking precautionary measures to ensure safety and efficiency during the Total Solar Eclipse

BEDFORD – The City of Bedford has been taking precautionary measures to ensure the safety and efficiency of our community during the Total Solar Eclipse on Monday, April 8.

In addition to all parks being staffed and open with public restrooms, we will have increased officer presence, with two shifts working during the Eclipse. These officers will be stationed throughout the city to ensure quick response times.

Bedford Fire Department will also have increased manpower and equipment stationed throughout the city to respond efficiently and quickly. We will also have employees from all departments available with radios and ATVs to allow more effortless mobility around our city for any concerns. City Hall will be open on Monday during our regular hours, 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. If assistance is needed, please get in touch with City Hall at 812-279-6555.

We urge everyone to exercise caution when traveling, prepare for delays, and remain vigilant.

Eclipse glasses are available at City Hall for pickup.
