New firefighter and police officer take oath of office

BEDFORD – On Tuesday, March 19, a new City of Bedford Police Officer and Firefighter took their oaths of office.

Board of Works and Safety President Judy Carlisle administered those oaths to new Bedford Police Officer Aaron Manke and Bedford Firefighter Seth Brown.

The board also approved hiring police officers Joshua Turner and Christian Anderson, pending their PERF retirement transfer approval. Both officers formally served as Mitchell Police officers. The two also qualify for the city’s bonus agreement for officers on active duty for one to five years.

The board also accepted the resignation of probationary firefighter George Thomas Vehslage, effective immediately.
