Bedford Fire Department will purchase a new Emergency Response Vehicle

BEDFORD – The City of Bedford Board of Works and Safety approved the purchase of a new Emergency Response Vehicle for the Bedford Fire Department, pending City Council approval.

Hobson Ford will purchase the 2024 F550 4X4 Crew Chassis for $62,383. Stonewell Bodies and Machines Inc. will provide the body for $107,500.

The City Council also approved the request during their meeting on Tuesday night.

In other business, the Board of Works and Safety;

The board accepted a bid from ISI for the east/west gravity sewer line for $2,988,015.

Utilities Director Misty Adams will send a letter of engagement to Crowe LLC so they can prepare the city’s annual report for the revenue bonds for the water and sewer department.

The board accepted an easement for the Spider Creek Force Main and Lift Stations on the property of Shea and Christina Hooten. The new line will cross their property.

The board also approved a minor subdivision of Southland Church of Christ’s property at 2201 16th Street. Church officials want to split the property into two lots. One is where the church is, and the other will become a vacant lot that the church plans to sell.

McIntyre Brothers was awarded a contract to test the city’s tornado emergency sirens. The City has ten sirens. They will be tested in the spring and fall at a total cost of $3,200.

The board also approved Plan Director and Zoning Director Brandon Woodward’s request to pay Ringer & Daniels Heating & Cooling $20,463 to replace the system heating and cooling system at City Hall.
