Police receive tip of drug activity and arrest three

BEDFORD – Three people were arrested on Saturday, March 16th, and are facing several drug charges after Bedford Police Officers received a tip of illegal drug activity around 4:00 p.m. in the 3000 block of 16th Street.

Officers Michael Bell and Landon Jones responded and watched the transactions.

Police say they watched Haley and Terrell, who were in a 2014 black Acura parked on the south side of a gas station. A green Sonic then pulled into the station. Police watched as Haley and Terrell exited their vehicle and approached the Sonic. Terrell then returned to the Acura, and then he and Haley got into the Sonic and left the parking lot. Officer Jones and Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Brenten Trueblood followed them east on 16th Street. Officer Bell stayed with the Acura.

Tramoun Cowan

Officer Bell found 28-year-old Tramoun Cowan, of Bedford, hiding in the floorboard of the Acura. Cowan was wanted on a warrant for failure to appear. He was detained.

Bedford Police Sgt. Faheem Bade and his canine Zazu arrived. Zazu alerted officers to possible drugs in the vehicle. During a search of the vehicle, police found a black zipper bag that contained three unused syringes and a plastic bag that contained fentanyl, a packaged Zubsolv (Buprenorphine/Naloxone), cotton tips associated with drug use, and THC wax.

Cowan told police that if Haley was not arrested, he would claim the items in the Acura were his.

While officers were searching the Acura, Officer Trueblood stopped the Sonic.

Amber Haley

Police detained 25-year-old Amber Haley and 25-year-old Dalson Terrell, both of Bedford, on charges of possession of a narcotic drug, possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance, unlawful possession of a syringe, and possession of marijuana.

Dalson Terrell

Haley is also facing charges of possession of meth and trafficking with an inmate. While being processed at the Lawrence County Jail, it was discovered Haley had items stuffed inside of her body. They included
a small plastic bag containing crystal meth, two metal containers with used cotton tips, a white plastic container containing fentanyl, a cut straw, and a spoon.
