BEDFORD – The Star System Percussion placed second at the Brownsburg competition.

The Drum Line anxiously waiting to perform their show at Brownsburg.

On Saturday, March 16th, the Bedford North Lawrence (BNL) Star System Percussion group performed their show Piano Man at Brownsburg High School.  Their show Piano Man features the songs Piano Man by Billy Joel, Fur Elise by Beethoven, and Moonlight Sonata by Beethoven.

Stanlee Thompson-Bell performed during the show Piano Man.

They have been practicing two days a week every week since November for two hours and 45 minutes.  Their hard work has paid off.  Their scores have gradually increased from competition to competition.

Their Piano Man is José Cruz, who plays a hollowed-out baby grand piano with a keyboard inside.  The group’s members nicknamed him their own ‘Billy Joel.’

The group heard their critiques from their band director, Mr. Jim Jones.
