Comptroller Nieshalla announces two key members to her statehouse team

INDIANAPOLIS- Indiana Comptroller Elise Nieshalla announces Staci Schneider and Fred Van Dorp to join her Statehouse team.

On Monday, March 11, Schneider became Deputy Comptroller and Chief of Staff. She brings over 22 years of state experience and leadership to the office, having served as Deputy Auditor and Chief of Staff from 2017 to 2022. Schneider previously served as the Chief Communications and Technology Officer with the National Association of Attorneys General in Washington, D.C.

Van Dorp joins the team on Monday, March 18, as the Director of Accounting & Reporting and Local Government. He previously served in the office from 2009 to 2017 and most recently as the Budget Division Director at the Indiana Department of Local Government Finance.

“I am thrilled with both Staci and Fred joining our team,” said Comptroller Nieshalla. “Their passion to serve and institutional knowledge are immeasurable, and I look forward to the significant contributions they will make as leaders on our team.”

As State Comptroller, Neishalla is responsible for upholding the highest standards of fiscal responsibility in the accurate accounting and reporting of state funds, disbursement of tax revenues to local governments, payments to state employees and vendors, administration of the state’s deferred compensation plan, and management of the Indiana Transparency Portal.
