Two killed in Martinsville house fire

MARTINSVILLE — Two people were killed in a Sunday fire in Martinsville.

Martinsville Fire Department firefighters arrived at 5:43 a.m. on Outer Drive near Sunset Manor to find a one-story manufactured home. They saw fire coming from two windows. Before the arrival of firefighters, information was obtained by Morgan County Public Safety Dispatch that the occupants were still believed to be inside.

Upon arrival, firefighters made an aggressive interior attack while simultaneously searching for the missing occupants.

During the search, firefighters located both victims inside the mobile home deceased.

The fire was brought under control within 20 minutes.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Martinsville Fire Department fire marshal, Martinsville Police Department detectives, and Investigators from Washington Township and the Indiana State Fire Marshal Office.

There is no further information available.

Assisting agencies included the Martinsville Police, Morgan Co. EMS, Morgan Co. Public Safety Dispatch, and Morgan Co. Coroner.
