Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department investigating fatal shooting, persons of interest wanted for questioning

FORT RITNER- On Saturday morning, around 5:30 a.m., the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 4000 block of Fort Ritner Road after receiving a 911 call of a shooting that had just occurred. When officers arrived, they found a 21-year-old male deceased from a gunshot wound. Witnesses on the scene provided information that the person(s) responsible for the shooting had fled the scene in a vehicle.

At this time, the victim’s identity is being withheld pending family notifications. Investigating officers seek two persons of interest- Casey C. Brown, 38, Fort Ritner, and Bradley Harper Jr., 39, Bedford. They could be in a black 2018 Jeep Wrangler with plate number 986UAC. The Jeep would have a missing rear driver’s side window. They could also be in a gray or silver older Jeep SUV. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Brown, Harper, or the Jeep is asked to contact the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office at 812-275-3316. They are considered armed and dangerous, so do not approach them if you observe them.
