BNL’s Spreen, Bailey named First Team in HHC

BNL’s Chloe Spreen was named All-HHC by the league coaches for the fourth time.

BEDFORD – Bedford North Lawrence seniors Chloe Spreen and Madisyn Bailey were named to the Hoosier Hills Conference’s First Team by the league coaches.

Spreen, a four-time selection, averaged 20.9 points and 6.9 rebounds while powering the Stars to a 20-5 record and a 13th consecutive Class 4A sectional title. She finished second on the school’s career scoring list with 1,869 points. Spreen, a leading candidate for Miss Basketball, will continue her basketball career at Alabama.

Bailey, a Marian recruit, averaged 11.5 points and team highs of 4.2 assists and 3.2 steals. She scored a career-high 24 points in the sectional victory over Jennings County. She totaled a career-high 10 assists against Noblesville while earning First Team status for the first time.

Other honorees included Jennings County’s Juliann Woodard (a Michigan State recruit who averaged 17.3 points and 10.7 boards), Alivia Elmore (13.4 points) and Mollie Ernstes (13.9), Seymour’s Kendall Sterling and Journee Brown, Floyd Central’s Elise Coleman and Samara Miller, and Jeffersonville’s LaKyra Johnson (13.3 points).

Jennings County won the league title with a 6-0 record.

BNL freshman Miley Sherrill was Honorable Mention after averaging 9.0 points and 4.8 rebounds.

BNL’s Madisyn Bailey was named to the First Team for the first time.
