Witnesses told Officer Sarah Haluda that McKinney came into his backyard and saw him out of his window. He says McKinney was waving his arms, motioning for him to come out of the house. He told McKinney to leave his yard and called 911. He left but then reentered the man’s yard.

Another witness reported he and his son were hooking up a trailer when McKinney approached them. He said McKinney told them to “get out of there” which didn’t make any sense to them. They told McKinney he was on private property and needed to leave. He then stepped up to one of the men in a threatening manner several times and was told again to leave the property. McKinney then told the men he wanted to fight and one of the men told McKinney he was going to call the police. One of the men said McKinney said he was going to take them out and then apologized before leaving and walked away.
