Woman lands new meth charges, violates probation, and is sentenced to prison

BEDFORD – Lawrence Superior Court II Judge Robert Cline sentenced a Mitchell woman to the Indiana Department of Correction after she failed to comply with her probation terms.

Samantha Carver

Samantha L. Carver, 41, of Mitchell, pleaded guilty to possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony, on June 2, 2022. She was sentenced to 910 days in the Indiana Department of Correction, with 890 days suspended. She was placed on probation for 545 days.

While on probation, Carver was charged with new criminal offenses. She pleaded guilty to possession of meth, a Level 6 Felony, on January 25, 2023, in a negotiated plea agreement and was sentenced to 910 days in the IDOC, with 910 days suspended and 545 days of supervised probation, which violated the terms and conditions of her probation.

Carver also admitted to several other violations of her probation.

As a result of her guilty plea, Judge Cline revoked Carver’s suspended sentence, sentenced her to 850 days in the IDOC, and terminated the probation as unsuccessful. The two sentences are to run consecutively.
