Man will spend time in prison after violating terms of his probation

BEDFORD – On January 25, Lawrence County Superior Court II Judge Robert Cline ruled that 61-year-old Richard Johnson of Bedford failed to comply with the terms of his probation and sentenced him to serve 850 days in prison.

Johnson had pleaded guilty in a negotiated plea deal on October 27, 2022, to a charge of possession of meth, a Level 6 felony.

He was sentenced to 910 days in the Department of Corrections with 880 days suspended. He was placed on supervised probation for 546 days. But Johnson failed to comply with the terms of his probation and was arrested on January 25, 2024.
