Indiana State Fairgrounds & Event Center unveils new indoor track

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana State Fairgrounds & Event Center is excited to announce the completion of the new indoor track inside the Indiana Farm Bureau Fall Creek Pavilion.

To mark this momentous occasion, a ribbon-cutting ceremony took place on Thursday, January 19, 2024, where guests could witness the unveiling of the state-of-the-art track for the first time.

The 200-meter, fixed bank, portable track was designed and built by Beynon Sports and Weems Engineering. Details of the new track include:

The competition oval:

  • Six lanes
  • 12-degree banking in the turns
  • 21-meter radius
  • Elevated 18 inches off the ground in the straightaways and nearly 6 feet in the turns.

The Infield:

  • Eight-lane flat track for the sprinters and hurdlers
  • Two high jump areas
  • Two long jump/triple jump runways
  • One pole vault runway

The Indiana State Fairgrounds & Event Center has partnered with multiple institutions to host track meets over the coming weeks. The initial track meets include the Butler Invitational on January 20th, the IUPUI Invitational on the 26th and 27th, the USA Track and Field Combined Events Indoor Championships on the 27th and 28th, and the Marian Invitational on February 9th. These events promise to showcase the exceptional facilities of the new Indiana Farm Bureau Fall Creek Pavilion and the thrilling competition of indoor track and field sports.
