BEDFORD – On Wednesday, December 20, Senior Trooper Richard R. Klun was on patrol in Lawrence County when he located a reported stolen vehicle turning from southbound State Road 37 onto eastbound State Road 58.
Senior Trooper Klun received information that the stolen vehicle, a silver 2001 Saturn LS, was traveling south on State Road 37 in the area of the Monroe/Lawrence County Line. The vehicle had been reported as stolen to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department on Tuesday. After locating the silver 2001 Saturn, Senior Trooper Klun initiated a traffic stop and conducted his investigation.
The vehicle’s driver was 20-year-old Jeffrey Mobley of Ellettsville, and his passenger was 37-year-old Dustin Ikerd, also of Ellettsville.
As a result of the investigation, Senior Trooper Klun found meth, drug paraphernalia, and additional drugs. Both men were arrested and transported to the Lawrence County Jail on charges of possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of meth, possession of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.
