Teen skips school and is detained after being found with THC vapes

BEDFORD – A Bedford teen was detained at 1:20 p.m. on Wednesday, December 20th, after he was found with another female in the back of a red Dodge Journey in the Bedford North Lawrence High School parking lot by a school employee and alerted the school resource officer.

A school resource officer found several vaping devices on the 14-year-old male. Nothing illegal was found on the female. All the vaping devices tested positive for THC.

Both teens claimed they were skipping school and hanging out in the vehicle. They did not know who the vehicle belonged to.

Assistant Principal McNabb spoke to the two students found in the vehicle and the owner about the incident.

The male was released to a family member with a promise to appear in juvenile court on January 3, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. on a charge of possession of marijuana.
