BPD arrest teen following a 911 call

BEDFORD – A Bedford teen was detained when Bedford Police Officers responded to a 911 call reporting juveniles throwing items around in the caller’s yard. The juveniles then fled the scene.

Officers responded and located the children at 3:40 p.m. Officers spoke to the juveniles and sent them on their way.

At 4:08 p.m. officers received a second 911 call reporting a group of juveniles were in the 500 block of Eastview Drive and were threatening to attack the caller’s daughter.

When officers arrived they located two juveniles on the west side of Eastview Drive. The teens fled towards a wooded area from 22nd Street. Officers were able to locate the juveniles hiding behind a fallen tree.

The caller informed officers she just wanted the children to stay off her property and leave her daughter alone.

Officers detained the teens. A 14-year-old male refused to be handcuffed and backed away from officers. Officers had to forcefully take him to the ground and detain him.

The other female teen was identified and released from the scene.

The male was transported to the Bedford Police Department and a juvenile probation officer was contacted. The teen was issued a summons to appear in court on charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest by fleeing and force on January 3, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. and released to his aunt.
