BEDFORD – A Bedford man was arrested on a charge of invasion of privacy on Tuesday, December 12 after Bedford Police officers responded to a call of a male wanted on a warrant in the 1000 block of L Street.

The caller, a Lawrence County Probation Officer, told police 43-year-old James Kline was sitting on the porch of a home smoking a cigarette.

Kline was wanted on a warrant to revoke his probation. Police also learned Kline has a protective order on file preventing him from being at the home on L Street.

Police arrived and found Kline sitting on the front porch. When officers approached, they told him to stand and turn around, but Kline turned, began walking away, and attempted to enter the home.

Officers were able to stop Kline and detain him.

Kline told police it was fine for him to be at the home because no one was home. Police say Kline had been drinking and had a blood-alcohol content of 0.163.

Kline was detained on the outstanding warrant and a new charge of invasion of privacy.
