ORLEANS – The 13th Annual “Orleans Christmas on the Square” that was scheduled for Saturday, December 9 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Historic Congress Square has been canceled.

According to officials, the event was canceled due to the increasingly deteriorating weather forecast for Saturday night.

According to the National Weather Service forecasts, there will be occasional rain showers after midnight. The chance of rain is 40 percent. The temperatures will drop to 54 degrees with winds from the south at 10 to 29 miles per hour. On Saturday, showers continue, becoming a steady rain later in the day. High around 60 degrees. Winds will be southwest at 10 to 20 mph. The chance of rain is 70 percent with rainfall around a quarter of an inch.
