Teen detained after drinking Hennessey Cognac

BEDFORD – On Sunday, December 3, at 5:48 a.m., officers with the Bedford Police Department were requested to an apartment on Thomasson Court after a report a 17-year-old male had been drinking.

When officers arrived a female told officers the teen was inside vomiting after consuming alcohol. Police found the teen lying on his back watching Pawn Stars. He told the officers he was not feeling well and thought he had the flu. An ambulance was requested to the scene. While the teen was being medically cleared. The adult female gave police a partially empty bottle of Hennessey Cognac found hidden in the kitchen. 

The teen was given a portable breath test and he had a blood-alcohol content of 0.168 percent.

Once the teen was medically cleared he was detained and transported to the Bedford Police Department. Juvenile probation was contacted and the teen was released to his father with a promise to appear in court on December 13 at 9 a.m. on charges of illegal consumption and minor in possession of an alcoholic beverage.
