Contractors invited to Monon South Trail preliminary design meeting

SALEM – Contractors and suppliers are invited to a meeting at 10 a.m. on December 8 in Salem to review and comment on the Monon South Trail project’s vision, preliminary design, and constructability.

The Monon South Trail is a proposed 57-mile multi-use trail between Mitchell and the Clark/Floyd County border that would connect eight communities in Lawrence, Orange, Washington, and Clark counties.

The trail is being constructed on the former Monon Railroad bed. Design is underway for Phase 1 of the trail, which includes a combination of non-continuous paved and aggregate trail sections, amenities, and trailheads.

Phase 1 construction is anticipated to begin in spring 2024.

The meeting agenda includes a project overview, design concepts, constructability discussion, and opportunities for contractor involvement.

Contractors and suppliers are encouraged to come prepared to share thoughts and ideas. This is an important opportunity to help shape the future of the Monon South Trail project.

Please RSVP at ClarkDietz.com/mst-rsvp/ by Nov. 22 so the design team can provide adequate space for meeting attendees. The location will be shared with those who RSVP.
