Kitchen Drive for the Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence County

BEDFORD – The Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence County is raising funds to expand its educational options to include a culinary program.

The culinary program aims to serve the children an afternoon or evening meal. Many club members do not receive a meal once they go home.

To do so, they need to remodel and update their kitchen, which hasn’t been changed in over twenty years.

Earlier this month, the Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence County raised $ 56,760 at its annual dinner and auction, so it is well on its way to achieving its goal of $75,000.

When the club reaches $75,000, it will be matched dollar-for-dollar by the United Way of South Central Indiana to provide the $150,000 needed to update the club’s 23-year-old kitchen into a commercial set to facilitate the new culinary program.

But the Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence County can’t raise the remaining $18,240 alone.

You can influence the lives of our local teens and children by ensuring they don’t go home hungry.

Monthly donation options range from just $5 to $25 per month. Even small amounts make a difference.

  • $5 monthly donation is $60 per year, which provides sponsorship of two membership fees.
  • $10 monthly donation is $120 per year, which provides four Athletic Scholarships for kids
  • $20 monthly donation is $240 per year, providing a month of Chef’s Hat supplies
  • $25 per month is $300 per year, providing a month of Maker Space supplies

If you can’t sign up for monthly donations, you can make a one-time donation in an amount of your choosing or volunteer your time instead.

There’s only $18,240 left to go, so please don’t hesitate to help reach this goal, which will improve the lives of many.
