Gasoline sales tax will drop 18.6 cents on December 1

INDIANA – The sales tax on gasoline in Indiana will drop 18.6 cents per gallon on December 1.

That is nearly a three-cent drop since October and the lowest since March 2023. It’s almost five cents less than December of last year.

The total combined state and federal taxes on a gallon of gasoline will be 71.0 cents effective December 1.

The use tax is based on the average wholesale price of gasoline in the previous month.
