Homeowner prevents drug users from overtaking his home

SILVERVILLE – Two people were arrested on Wednesday, November 15th, after a homeowner came to the station to file a complaint and requested officers to respond to the 200 block of Silver Lane.

The homeowner reported that he had permitted a female to stay at the residence. This female then gave a male permission to stay there as well. The two were now allegedly trying to take over the home and force the actual homeowner out. The homeowner told police the male staying in his home had gotten physical with him and the two “guests” were using drugs.

Deputies Shaun Cabral and Calvin Callahan responded to the home. When they arrived they could smell the odor of marijuana and saw meth smoking devices on a table in the living room.

Officers requested a search warrant which was granted and searched the home. During that search, police found meth, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and a firearm.

Police then learned Williams was wanted on felony warrants in Clark and Johnson counties and Johnson was wanted on felony warrants in both Clark and Floyd counties.

Both Williams and Johnson were detained on charges of possession of meth with a firearm, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and their outstanding felony warrants.

Oolitic Town Marshal James Harrington and Sheriff Greg Day assisted in the investigation.
