Re-zoning and subdivision of several local properties approved

BEDFORD – In this week’s Planning and Zoning Commission meeting, the owner of Bubba’s Pizza Jennifer King requested to subdivide the property into two parcels. The minor subdivision was approved for the land at 2717 John Williams Boulevard in Bedford.

The Planning and Zoning Commission

Larry Blackburn requested his own plot of land, located at 2410 29th Street in Bedford, be subdivided into three lots. This was also approved.

Additionally, the commission approved the rezoning of the property from R3 residential zoning to B1 convenience zoning for Jay Dee Waggoner.

B1 convenience zoning allows:

  • retail stores
  • Service shops
  • restaurants, except drive-in restaurants
  • schools
  • churches
  • offices
  • Financial Institutions, except drive-ins
  • taverns and night clubs
  • clinics
  • private recreation facilities
  • funeral homes
  • government buildings
  • plant nurseries and greenhouses
  • radio – TV stations and studios
  • artisan and craft shops
  • essential services
  • accessory uses

The Waggoners had a garage and a house on the property torn down, and now hope the change of the zoning from residential to commercial will make the property easier to sell.
