Bloomington District welcomes a new trooper

BLOOMINGTON – The Bloomington District welcomes Probationary Trooper Jesse Crane following his graduation from the 84th Indiana State Police Recruit Class as a lateral transfer from a previous law enforcement agency.

Probationary Trooper Crane is a 2005 graduate of Bedford North Lawrence High School and a graduate of Oakland City University with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. Crane resides in Lawrence County with his wife and three daughters. He joined the U.S. Army Reserves in 2007 as an Imagery Analyst and was deployed to Balad, Iraq, in 2011. He completed his time in service in 2013 achieving the rank of sergeant.

He began his law enforcement career with the French Lick Police Department and in 2013 joined the Bedford Police Department where he served as a K-9 handler, SWAT member, supervisor, traffic safety program coordinator, and the Bedford Police Department’s Memorial Officer.

Following sixteen weeks of recruit training for lateral transfers at the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy, Crane was sworn in as an Indiana State Police Trooper on October 26. Monroe and Greene counties will be Probationary Trooper Crane’s primary duty assignment.
