Belligerent man at gas station is arrested

BEDFORD – A Bedford man was detained on Saturday, November 4th after Bedford Police officers were requested to the Circle K at 729 16th Street following a report of a verbal fight between two males.

While en route at 2:55 p.m., police were alerted the verbal fight had turned physical.

Jordan Reed

When police arrived they found 30-year-old Jordan Reed sitting on a plastic display rack outside of the building. Officers say Reed appeared to be intoxicated. He was swaying while he was sitting and officers could smell the odor of alcohol on his person. Reed was asked if he was involved in the altercation and he denied the allegations. Reed then attempted to walk away from the scene. He was told to sit back down, but instead, he clenched his fists and swung at the officers he then dropped his head back into his lap.

Reed was then secured in handcuffs.

An employee reported Reed had been at the store several hours before and purchased a pack of cigarettes. He then returned to the store and became belligerent with employees, slamming the counters. He was asked to leave. He then threatened the staff and was verbally aggressive with another customer. He then exited the store. The manager asked Reed to be issued a no-trespass order preventing him from returning to the store.

Police found Reed’s car parked behind the store. In the vehicle, police found a partially empty Vodka bottle and a THC vape pen in the driver’s seat.

There was not any video footage found to place Reed behind the wheel.

Reed submitted to a portable breathalyzer and had a 0.175 percent alcohol level.

Reed continued to be belligerent and was transported to jail on charges of disorderly conduct and public intoxication. While at the jail Reed slapped a jail officer. Reed had to be forced into a restraint chair multiple times.
