Loogootee Public Library needs donations for the Christmas Tree Jubilation fundraiser

LOOGOOTEE – The Loogootee Public Library is in need of donations of decorated Christmas trees, wreaths, and lanterns for its Chrismas Tree Jubilation fundraiser.

Director Darla Wagler said the event is based on Bedford’s LIFE’s Annual Christmas Fantasia and Shawnee’s Theatre’s Festival of Trees in Bloomfield.

The library has partnered with Community Action Leading Loogootee or CALL, to offer this holiday season event.

The silent auction will begin at 1 p.m. on November 11th and end at Noon on November 18th. The items will be displayed at the Loogoottee Library located at 504 Park Street.

Those wanting to donate a tree, wreath, or centerpiece can drop them off at the library on November 6,7, or 10 or call the library to make special arrangements at 812-295-3713.

There are no size restrictions on items but those hoping to make items for the auction should keep in mind the library ceilings are 10 feet tall.

The money raised will be used to pay $11,000 for a state and federal audit. The audit was a requirement for a USDA loan to the library. The library did not budget for the audit fee.
