Bloomington woman arrested after police respond to concerned citizen calls

BEDFORD – Bedford Police Department officers arrested a Bloomington woman on a charge of criminal trespassing on Saturday, October 28 when officers were requested to the 2000 block of Mitchell Road after a report of a physical domestic fight between a male and a female.

The caller reported a male and female were seen walking on the side of the road arguing when the male shoved the female.

Another caller reported the male and female had parted ways since the altercation.

Lakesha Shyann Cobb

When police arrived around 3:00 p.m. at the Budget Inn at 2816 Mitchell Road they found 32-year-old Lakesha Shyann Cobb standing in the grass with one of her children. Police recognized Lakesha Cobb from previous incidents and knew she was issued a no-trespass order preventing her from being at the Budget Inn.

Cobb told police she and her husband, David Cobb, had been arguing but denied that anything physical had happened. She then told police she was not aware of the no-trespass order.

Davide Cobb told police he had been letting his wife stay with him at the Budget Inn.

Lakesha Cobb then admitted she did know there was a no-trespass order but she was staying with her husband and her vehicle was parked in the parking lot. She also admitted to actively using drugs since she had been released from jail.

Officers spoke with the owners of the Budget Inn and they confirmed that they did not want Lakesha Cobb on the property and that she had been sneaking into her husband’s room at night.

Lakesha Cobb was detained on a charge of criminal trespassing and transported to the Lawrence County Jail.
