MITCHELL – The Mitchell Opera House and Choices Initiative is offering a free movie opportunity for Mitchell families.
On November 9, at the Mitchell Opera House located at 217 North 7th Street in Mitchell, there will be a showing of the “Hoosiers” movie.
Doors open at 6 p.m., and the movie will begin at 6:30 p.m.
Sports coaches are encouraged to bring their team for a team-building experience. You will also have the chance to win one of five basketballs.
‘Hoosiers’ Follows failed college coach Norman Dale (Gene Hackman) as he gets a chance at redemption when he is hired to direct the basketball program at a high school in a tiny Indiana town. After a teacher (Barbara Hershey) persuades star player Jimmy Chitwood to quit and focus on his long-neglected studies, Dale struggles to develop a winning team in the face of community criticism for his temper and his unconventional choice of assistant coach: Shooter (Dennis Hopper), a notorious alcoholic.
