Public invited to Purdue Extension-Lawrence County Lunch-n-Learn on Wednesday, November 15

BEDFORD – Purdue Extension-Lawrence County will host a Lunch-n-Learn on Wednesday, November 15, from 12 p.m. until 1:15 p.m. at the StoneGate Arts and Education Center at 931 15th Street, in Bedford.

There is no charge to attend this event.

Dr. John Blanton

For this year’s event, organizers will welcome Dr. John Blanton, Department Head of Animal Sciences at Purdue University, as the guest speaker. He will speak on the process of receiving funds for Extension, from the national down to the local level, and the ways Extension supports Workforce Development at the local level.

Elizabeth Butterfield

Attendees will also hear from Elizabeth Butterfield, a 6th-grade teacher at Shawswick Elementary, about the impact made on her students by the CATCH My Breath, a vaping prevention program. Purdue Extension Lawrence County Staff from all program areas including 4-H and Youth Development, Agriculture, and Natural Resources, Health and Human Sciences, Nutrition Education, and Community Wellness will be available for discussion. There will also be a report on the year in review.

Guests are invited to come to learn more about what the extension service does in the Lawrence County community and how the extension service partners with other groups to make even more impact in Lawrence County.
