BMV extends their hours before Election Day

INDIANA — The Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles announced Tuesday that they will extend branch hours on November 6 and 7 for those branches located in counties holding elections.

According to a release, the reason behind this is to be open to issuing ID Cards and driver’s licenses to be used for identification at polling places.

Branches on Nov. 6 will be open from 8:30 a.m. until 8 p.m., and 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Nov. 7. Branches will resume regular business hours on Nov. 8.

Branches will prioritize transactions that include new, amended, renewed, or replacement identification cards, learner’s permits, driver’s licenses, and CDLs that don’t require testing.

Those with a driver’s license that expired after the last general election, according to the BMV, may use the expired card as proof of identification for voting purposes.
