BEDFORD – On Monday, October 16th, around 10:40 p.m. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department Captain Harrison Fleetwood conducted a traffic stop along US 50 and Maple Leaf Road.
During the stop, Oolitic Town Marshal James Harrington was requested to the scene with his canine partner Deny Joe. The dog alerted officers to possible drugs in the vehicle.
A search revealed the driver, Megan Hutton, 37, of Heltonville, was in possession of methamphetamine and hypodermic syringes.
She was arrested on charges of Capt. Fleetwood arrested her for the possession offenses.
Officer Bailey Duprey assisted with the investigation.
