Kiwanis ‘Spooktacular’ Balloon Fest

BLOOMINGTON – The Kiwanis Club of South Central Indiana have revamped their annual Balloon Festival to reflect the season, presenting their first-ever Spooktacular Balloon Festival, complete with a Haunted Mansion balloon all the way from Oklahoma.

The 11th Annual Balloon Festival is a fundraiser for the Kiwanis Club of South Central Indiana to continue their mission, and it will be held October 26-28 at the Monroe County Fairgrounds, located at 5700 West Airport Road in Bloomington.

The Haunted Mansion Balloon

The Balloons and activities lift off this Thursday, October 26, and continue through Friday and Saturday, October 27 and 28 so you have a full three days to grab your family and enjoy affordable, timeless fun, and make lasting memories.

At only $25 a carload, the event is accessible to anyone and everyone, and there is something there to draw your attention no matter who you are.

The festival this year offers a variety of fun activities, including brand-new additions like a hayride, trick-or-treat with balloon pilots and vendors, a costume parade, and so much more.

If you don’t come for the balloons, come for the candy, the costumes, the giant kites, the carnival swings, and the Halloween Egg Hunt.

The egg hunt is an age-inclusive event, with a Friday hunt for adults, and a Saturday hunt for youth and children.

Other events and activities include:

  • Woodcarvers
  • Pyrotechnic Skydivers – if you want to see someone jump from a plane with fireworks on their back, now is your chance
  • Live music
  • Hayrides
  • Beer & Wine Garden

Who are the Kiwanis Club of South Central Indiana?

Kiwanis Club of South Central Indiana founder Vanessa McClary explained that “Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world one child and one community at a time.”

The International Kiwanis site explains “Kids need adults who care. That’s why people join Kiwanis clubs. They’re local groups of like-minded volunteers who make a difference. Friends. Neighbors. Anyone who loves serving together to change children’s lives. In fact, Kiwanians are part of a global network of clubs and members who partner with each other and with organizations whose missions align with ours. All around the world — and in communities like yours — Kiwanis International is serving the kids who need us most.”
