Constellation Stage & Screen presenting World Champion of Magic, Simon Coronel

BLOOMINGTON –“Glitches is a masterful journey toward the impossible.” – Kathleen Thomaselli, The Post Star.

This November, Constellation Stage & Screen is bringing Simon Coronel, the reigning World Champion of Magic, to Bloomington for an exclusive magic show! Glitches in Reality, a mind-blowing production starring Simon Coronel, will be performed at the Ted Jones Playhouse starting November 9. Due to popular demand, Constellation is thrilled to announce that it will be extending the show through November 19!

Tim Ferriss, creator of The 4-Hour Workweek and the podcast The Tim Ferriss Show (900M downloads), said the following about Glitches in Reality: “By far the best magic show I’ve ever seen. A combination of wonder, explanation, surprise – a decathlon of magic…It was one of the most spectacular, mind-bending things I’ve ever seen in my life.”

Every three years, in what is deemed the “Olympics of Magic,” the global magic community comes together to name one magician the best of the best. In 2022, that magician was Simon Coronel. Glitches in Reality features World Champion of Close-up Magic and FISM Grand Prix winner, Simon Coronel, in a show that blends theater and magic into a one-of-a-kind, once-in-a-lifetime experience. Labeled an “Alien of Extraordinary Ability” by the U.S. Government, Simon left his engineering career behind to immigrate from Australia to America. There, Simon spent the next decade of his life honing the techniques that would eventually win him the highest accolade in magic – engineering close-up miracles that focus on the craft, skill, and ingenuity of magic, while still leaving his audience overcome with wonder. His career-defining production, Glitches in Reality, uses close-up trickery and mind-blowing sleight of hand to take the audience on a journey through the truth behind magic and illusion; a truth that is far more amazing than even the illusions themselves.

Glitches in Reality was co-created by Simon Coronel and Constellation’s Artistic Director Chad Rabinovitz. It was first developed and produced in 2018 as a co-production between the Bloomington Playwrights Project and the Adirondack Theater Festival, receiving high praise from critics and audiences alike. Coronel and Rabinovitz recently brought an updated version of their show to The Magic Castle in Los Angeles, and Constellation is thrilled to be bringing this incredible show back to Bloomington for an exclusive presentation! Constellation audiences can expect to see newly added illusions, including the one that brought Coronel his championship.
